Because of Jesus’ love for you, wonít you share your love with family and friends and invite them to our Friendship Weekend celebration.
Where Do I Begin?
Pray: Pray regularly that God will bless your friend and your friendship. Pray that God will open the door for the Gospel. Pray … “that God will open to us a door for the word.” (Colossians 4:3).
Build: Intentionally build up that friendship. Spend time together, remember birthdays and anniversaries. Share your times of joy and celebration with your friend. Seek ways to help and encourage your friend. “Some friends play at friendship, but a true friend sticks closer than one’s nearest kin” (Proverbs 18:24).
Tell: Be ready to share your faith with your friend. You can tell how much you needed Jesus and how much He has done for you. You need not win an argument. You need only to point to who Jesus is and what He has done for your friend. The Holy Spirit uses the Gospel to call people to faith. We can trust Him. “Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and reverence.” (1 Peter 3:15).
Invite: Invite your friend to get to know Jesus better. You can do this by offering a devotional booklet, tract or simple study guide. You can invite him or her to come to a class, worship or some other event with you. Invite gently, warmly and often. “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” (Revelation 19:9).
