LERT Training (Lutheran Early Response Team):
Who: If you are eager to help in times of natural disaster, or are a pastor who needs to be prepared and have certification to be on site if your members are affected & we need you!
What: Iowa District West has immediate need for LERT-certified volunteers to respond after natural disasters by giving spiritual comfort and emotional support while providing food, water, clean up, debris removal and helping with basic repairs.
Why: This is an opportunity to exercise your Christian faith and use your God-given gifts and talents to help others in need.
How: Attend the disaster orientation training event to become FEMA certified through LCMS World Relief and Human Care. Ellie Menz, IDW Disaster Response Coordinator, will lead a LERT Training on Saturday, March 12, 9 a.m. to noon, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3223 University Avenue, Des Moines.

When: Sign-in begins at 8 a.m. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. Please register by Monday, March 7, to help with a count for meals.
Late registrations and walk-ins are welcome.
